Meet the Shires

  • Age: 12 and up

Spend a full day on our family farm and go behind the scenes to meet the gentle giants of the farming world.
These majestic animals have powered industrial and agricultural revolutions, won world wars and captured the hearts of our nation.
Not only will you have the opportunity to feed the Shire horses, but you can also learn about their personalities and unique characteristics. As a national Shire horse breeding centre, we are dedicated to preserving this iconic breed and you can join our farm team to get an up-close and personal experience with these majestic animals.
Once you’ve met the Shires, you will be taken to meet the rest of the Cannon Hall Farm equine family - our Shetland ponies and our donkeys, where you will be given the opportunity to groom our tiniest horses.

Reptile Keeper Experience

Spend a full day on our family farm and go behind the scenes in our reptile house where you can get up close and personal with a vast array of snakes, lizards, insects and bugs.
You’ll be heading in to meet the amazing reptiles where you’ll assist our keepers in doing their daily duties and learning more about caring for our most exotic creatures.
This is a truly behind-the-scenes experience where you’ll learn more about what it takes to keep our Reptile House running.

Feed the Meerkats

  • Age: 8 and up

These fabulously curious critters are some of the most popular on the farm and are the first animals to welcome you when you arrive.
You’ll be granted behind the scenes access to go into our special meerkat enclosure and take part in a meerkat feeding session (which lasts for approximately half an hour) 
The rest of your one hour experience will be spent learning more about our meerkats close friends the mongoose and their friendly neighbours the porcupines.

Mammal House Keeper Experience

Get up close and personal with a vast array of nocturnal creatures and learn more about some of the rare inhabitants we have that live there.

You’ll be heading in to meet the amazing mammals, like our hairy armadillos, tenrecs and sugar gliders, where you’ll assist our keepers in doing their daily duties. You’ll also have the opportunity to head out to our red squirrel enclosure before the end of your experience. This is a truly behind-the-scenes experience.

Our goat herd is renowned for being full of character - from Millie the orphaned goat, to Florence Houdini the escape artist and the legendary Stanley who shot to fame after being born live on Springtime on the Farm.
Your one hour experience will include an introduction to our goat herd, where you will learn more about the specific breeds and the specific characters of our goats.
You’ll get to see them explore their happy place - the goat playground - and go into their pens to meet them in person.

VIP Farm Tour

Join our friendly farm team for some never-before-seen access to Cannon Hall Farm as they take you behind the scenes and check in on all the farm favourites.
Your one hour tour will be like a real life Facebook live broadcast - you’ll go around our barns and into the areas normally not accessible to the public and check in on the animals of the hour.
Depending on the time of year you choose to visit, this could include anything from a behind the scenes peek at lambing, to checking in as we get our animals ready for show season.
It will be a true glimpse behind the curtain.

Bottle Feed a Lamb

  • Age: 8 and up

Spend a full day on our family farm and go behind the scenes in our state of the art Roundhouse lambing shed.
Help tend our flock by bottle feeding this year’s ‘vulnerables’ - those lambs who need a little extra special care and the orphan lambs and goats.
While you are there, we will make sure the adult sheep aren’t neglected - you’ll learn a bit more about our rare breeds and help our farmers make sure they are set for the day.
The overall experience will last for one hour.

Spectating Guests

Guests are welcome to accompany you on your experience but they will be able to view from public viewing areas only (where available) and will not be included in the experience.
